    About the standard

    The Sustainable Biomass Program – SBP (for its acronym in English) is a unique certification system designed for woody biomass used in large-scale industrial and energy production.
    Standard founded by leading European public service companies that use biomass in power plants, whose purpose is to certify that woody biomass for energy use is obtained and produced responsibly.

    The objective of SBP is to comply with the legal, regulatory and sustainability requirements of the European Union, paying special attention to social compliance, land use change and biodiversity. By obtaining the SBP certification, you will have guaranteed access to the European Union market. SBP covers the entire supply chain, from the origin of the biomass to the consumer (biomass producers, traders and energy producers).
