A sustainability report is a key tool for companies that want to demonstrate their commitment to social responsibility and sustainability, whether to attract investors and customers, or to demonstrate to public authorities that they are on track to achieve the SDGs.

    About the verification

Through this verification, Control Union declares the compliance of the report with the requirements specified in current European directives.

An ESG sustainability report is a report or document created by an organization to communicate with detailed transparency its performance in areas related to the environment, social aspects and governance.

It is used to inform key stakeholders of the company (investors, customers, employees, and society, or the public authority through verification) on how the company addresses its impact on the world in these matters:

Company practices in relation to natural resource management, GHG emissions reduction, biodiversity conservation, waste management, energy efficiency, etc.

Company’s social issues such as inclusion, diversity, equality, workplace safety, fair labor practices, ethical implementation throughout the supply chain, etc.

Board structure, executive compensation, financial transparency, anti-bribery policy, corruption, etc.

The report has to include quantitative and qualitative data showing the company’s performance in these areas. These are data such as turnover rate, amount of gases emitted, employee diversity, amount of waste produced and the control and monitoring of waste management.

Past, present and future ESG in the company, which puts us in context of where it came from, where it is and where it is going.

The document has to show the company’s commitment to sustainability in a transparent way.

Verification consists of a control of the veracity of the declared information by an impartial body. Depending on the type of company, it is mandatory or voluntary.
