The SURE certification ensures the sustainable development and responsible use of biomass within the energy sector and contributes in a tangible way to the reduction of greenhouse gases.
As a voluntary certification system, it has defined verifiable criteria for the production of electricity and heat from solid biomass and biogas. This set of criteria is in line with the principles of the European Energy Directive (RED II) and results in indicators that are regularly validated by Control Union auditors.
